With 30 years of robotics and embedded systems experienced RoboCraft is ready help solve your problems!
RoboCraft is run by and fully owned by Johan Forsberg with 30 years of experience in the business:
It started with the robotics research and a PhD under Åke Wernersson at Luleå University of Technology in the 1990s
Followed by the creation of Mobile Robotics Sweden AB in 1999
And Medirob AB in 2005
And since 2014 RCI RoboCraft Innovation AB
The story started at Luleå University of Technology in the mid 1990s. The robotics research under the leadership of professor Åke Wernersson was used to create two robot systems with real world applications: an autonomous spray plastering robot and a robotically controlled hydraulic robot for nuclear decommissioning. You can jump back in time to 1999 to see where it all started..
In 1998 Johan Forsberg, Dan Nilsson and Bo Glimskär started Mobile Robotics Sweden AB to commercialize the research results from Luleå. This was followed by 15 years of successful innovation and cooperation! Some of the highlights include:
- Robotic control of a Brokk hydraulic robot for nuclear decommissioning.
- The RailScan family of products for railroad scanning.
- The Ragvald UGV - ahead of its time.
- A scanner system for mining operations.
- Participation in research projects on robotics and health.
- A GPS crash testing robot with VTI and Autoliv
2006 a project on remote ultra sound examinations using a robot resulted in the spin-off Medirob AB. The company developed a purpose made robot certified for medical use. It was used in a number of telemedicine studies together with professor Kurt Boman. It also found use as an ergonomic tool and is still in use for the purpose.
As a commercial product it currently put on hold. But if the right opportunity and financing appears it is still a great concept with a couple of ready-made robots waiting to get to work!
In 2014 RoboCraft was started by Johan Forsberg and since 2023 Mobile Robotics and Medirob have become parts of RoboCraft.
- Optical and acoustic scoring and aircraft tracking with Tensec AB
- Together with Autoliv participating in the Chronos project developing standard for automotive testing.
- Robotics vehicles for testing of driver assistance systems and driver behavior with Magna Electronics Sweden AB.
- Embedded custom hardware and software.
- Collaborative automotive systems, V2V and V2X together with Magna.
